Is RHA a Good Dermal Filler?

Two female friends laugh and make the peace sign while posing outside At American Surgical Arts, we think RHA is a great filler! RHA stands for Resilient Hyaluronic Acid filler. This newer brand of filler moves with your face in a way that produces optimally natural, beautiful results. RHA fillers are great for:

  • Reducing the appearance of wrinkles by replacing the lost volume
  • Defining the contours of your face
  • Rejuvenating areas of hollowing and volume loss

RHA comes in three different types in order to treat specific types of wrinkles. Our experienced cosmetic surgeons will determine whether RHA 2, RHA 3, RHA 4, or a combination, is the right way to address your goals. It will depend on the depth and location of the wrinkles, as well as whether contouring and definition are also desired.

The Process

The injection process is just like other dermal filler appointments. The injections are administered with a fine needle. Topical numbing cream can be applied to the skin to ensure your comfort. Most appointments take about 30 minutes.

There’s no downtime afterward! You can get right back to your day. Some redness and swelling is normal, but it should go away within a few days.

RHA results are immediately apparent. The hyaluronic acid has an instant filling effect, unlike BOTOX or similar injectables and injectable treatments that require some time to start working. The results should look even better after a few days, once everything has settled and redness has dissipated.

Your Candidacy

In addition to adding volume to the face for a naturally youthful look, RHA fillers are a good match for many types of wrinkles:

  • Nasolabial folds
  • Marionette lines
  • Forehead lines
  • Laugh lines
  • Dynamic creases caused by facial expressions

Because of the way it is formulated, RHA looks equally beautiful when your face is in motion and when it is at rest. Furthermore, RHA can last for up to 15 months!
