Noninvasive procedures are more popular than ever, and the trend has definitely arrived in New Jersey. CoolSculpting® patients at our South Jersey practice enjoy freezing away fat and slimming down curves—all without any downtime or surgery.

With CoolSculpting now in such high demand, many patients are trying this treatment for the very first time. To help those new to body sculpting procedures, this blog post will outline the before, during, and after of CoolSculpting at American Surgical Arts.

Before

To begin your CoolSculpting journey, schedule a free consultation online or call the practice office. During the appointment, you will have a chance to talk with our board-certified staff about your options and ask any questions you have about the procedure. This is an excellent chance to discuss your goals, potential concerns, and desired results. You will also receive a customized outline of your treatment pricing.

In some cases, liposuction might be a suggested alternative for patients seeking extensive fat reduction. Discuss your needs with your doctor to find the best possible solution.

During

Arrive 10 to 15 minutes before your treatment so you have time to relax and finish any final paperwork. Once inside the treatment room, you will sit in a reclined chair, and your provider will prepare the CoolSculpting machine.

To begin the procedure, your provider will place the targeted fatty tissue between 2 cooling panels. The applicators use vacuum suction to hold the fat and skin in place. As the area begins to cool, you may feel a tingling sensation before the area goes numb. Any discomfort is minor, and many patients read books or check their email during this time.

A CoolSculpting session typically takes about an hour to complete. The time may vary depending on how many locations you are treating.

After

There is zero downtime required after treatment, and patients can return to work or home immediately afterward. Slight soreness, swelling, or redness are all common potential side effects, but these issues subside within a few hours.

The body will begin to eliminate the dead, frozen fat cells over the weeks following your treatment. As the cells are flushed out, the fat layer will condense and reduce. You can start seeing changes around 2 to 3 months after the procedure. For those seeking further results and fat reduction, you can schedule a series of touch-up appointments.

Noninvasive procedures are a great way to tone the body without disrupting your day-to-day life. Our CoolSculpting patients here in South Jersey have received noticeable, satisfying results.

If you’re curious about your own body contouring treatment options, request a consultation online or call the practice at (856) 362-8898. Our staff would be happy to answer your questions.
